17th International Bodrum Ballet Festival has kicked off in Muğla’s Bodrum district.
In the first event of the festival, which was attended by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Mersin State Opera and Ballet staged "Frida" at the Bodrum Castle.
Organized by the State Opera and Ballet General Directorate, “Frida” has seen much interest by the public, featuring Frida Kahlo’s life, a much-appraised artist who moved on with her life by painting after a bus accident.
The two-act play, with stunning choreography by Özgür Adam İnanç and music by Arturo Marquez, Jose Pablo Moncayo and Can Aksel, has garnered much interest by the audience. The event was followed by several art lovers as well as Minister Ersoy’s wife Mrs. Pervin Ersoy and Bekir Yılmaz, the district governor of Bodrum.
The festival will continue with Georgia Sukhishvili National Ballet on 6-7 August.
